The major purpose of this plan is to establish a complete website for the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act. This web site will be serving as a propagation tool and environmental news center for public access. It will tell the public of the meaning of the act, its relevant regulation, its promotion pace, and any soil and groundwater remediation related news. The completed work includes the web site establishment, its continued maintenance and update, inquiry of the soil and groundwater pollution monitoring…etc.
The content of the web site has the introduction of the soil and groundwater remediation. The overall introduction includes its relevant regulation, its relevant government agency, its risk analysis, and its survey and remediation technology. Also the web page has introduction on the international trend, introduction on U.S. Superfund regulation and Superfund site, introduction on soil and groundwater remediation fund, prompt news report, web page made by school children, link to other web page, inquiry and search, electronic report, question and answer collection, and English written web page. Totally it takes around 19 pages.
The inquiry function we made was for the groundwater pollution monitoring database, well monitoring database for underground water, and soil information database for 316 hectares farmland. We also established soil monitoring inquiry database by collecting soil monitoring data from each hsien or city. For the establishment of the soil and groundwater research database, we collected local and Environmental Protection Administration entrusted work plans; their names, summaries, conclusions, and plan suggestions, and set them as the database content.
